IFMCD is committed to providing a safe and respectful platform for independent filmmakers and audiences. All content uploaded to the Platform must comply with these guidelines.
1. Eligible Content
IFMCD is a platform for independent films. We accept feature films, short films, and documentaries. Content must be original or you must hold the distribution rights.
- Feature films, short films, and documentaries
- Original content or content you have rights to distribute
- Completed works (no works-in-progress or raw footage)
- Professional or semi-professional quality production
2. Prohibited Content
The following types of content are strictly prohibited on IFMCD:
- Content that infringes on any third party’s intellectual property rights
- Content depicting the sexual exploitation or abuse of minors
- Content that promotes terrorism or violent extremism
- Content created primarily to harass, bully, or threaten a specific individual
- Spam, misleading metadata, or content uploaded solely for promotional purposes
- Content that violates any applicable law or regulation
3. Mature Content
Films containing mature themes (violence, strong language, sexual content, drug use) are permitted when they serve an artistic or narrative purpose. All films with mature content must be appropriately tagged during the upload process.
Films rated for adults-only content may have restricted visibility on the Platform.
4. Technical Requirements
To ensure the best viewing experience, uploaded content should meet the following standards:
- Video formats: MP4, MOV, AVI, or MKV
- Minimum resolution: 720p (1280x720). Recommended: 1080p or 4K
- Maximum file size: 50GB
- Audio: stereo or surround sound, properly synced
- A poster image (2:3 aspect ratio) is required for all uploads
5. Metadata Accuracy
All film metadata — including title, synopsis, genres, credits, and year — must be accurate and truthful. Misleading metadata may result in content removal.
6. Review Process
All uploaded content goes through a review process before being published on the Platform. We aim to complete reviews within a few business days. Content that does not meet these guidelines will be rejected with an explanation.
7. Enforcement
Violations of these guidelines may result in content removal, account suspension, or permanent termination depending on the severity and frequency of the violation. We reserve the right to remove any content at our discretion.
If you believe content on the Platform violates these guidelines, please report it to content@ifmcd.com.
